Overview
Set along the Tons River, Tapkeshwar Temple is among the oldest Shiva shrines in Uttarakhand, dating back over 6,000 years. Built inside a natural cave, the temple houses a sacred Shivalinga over which water droplets continuously fall—hence the name “Tapkeshwar.”

Visitor Experience
Pilgrims bathe in the sulphur springs before entering the cave. The rhythmic drip of water and chanting create a divine atmosphere. During Shravan month, the temple is lit up with celebrations, fairs, and all-night prayers.
